The 1st 3R (DNA Replication, Repair and Recombination) international symposium was held in 1997 in Japan by spontaneous organization of leading researchers. Since then, this symposium series has been held in a similar manner basically biannually. The 11th event was held in 2018 at Kanazawa, expanding the scope to include 3C (Chromatin, Chromosome and Cell cycle) as the 3R+3C International Symposium. After the COVID-19 pandemic, the 12th symposium took place in 2024 at Fukuoka, a major international city in Kyushu, Western Japan. The 13th 3R+3C+D International Symposium will be held in 2026 at Nagasaki, a historic port city known for its cultural diversity, adding “Disease” as a new dimension to the scope of the meeting.
