Driving Value in Education- Insights from India
Vinnie Jauhari works as Learning and Skills Lead at Microsoft Corporation India Ltd. and has been an educationist. She manages strategic engagements across evangelism and skills programs in Education and focuses both on K-12 and Higher Education. She enables digital transformation journey for education institutions and empowering teachers and students to innovations powered by technology. She works with Boards of Education and Education leaders to drive systematic transformation. Some of the programs that she has shaped and built communities in India are the MS Showcase School Program and Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert Community of teachers. She has also facilitated the development of AI curriculum, Coding and Data Sciences for Schools and partnered with various Boards of Education for the same. Her contributions have won her recognition across several years at Microsoft.
Her work has impacted millions of teachers and students on embracing technology and contributed to building education learning community in India. She has enabled building a global research community on Services Management and Innovation.
She has earlier worked with HP Labs (~3 years) and has been a Professor and Director at IIMT (Oxford Brookes University) for 12 years.
She has authored thirteen books published by some of the leading publishers such as Oxford Press, Apple Press (USA), and Springer (Germany). She has published extensively in the domain of services, innovation, and technology management. She has over 100 papers published in leading national and international journals. She has Edited international journals and received several Best paper awards at an international level.
A unique value to the stakeholders is a key ingredient to success in any business. Technology is disrupting the nature of work and personal lives of people. Education is the cross roads of massive change and has a key responsibility to drive change and contribute to shaping the talent which industry requires. New job roles will require new competencies and skill sets. The presentation focuses on how Microsoft has contributed to developing of communities of learning through Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) Programs and institutional excellence through Showcase School Programs. These programs led to educators in life long learning mode as well as participate in global exchanges and developing programs which involve community projects. These were unique aspects to build linkages with social good, environmental sensitization and embracing Sustainable Development Goals. The work led to global recognition of MIE Expert Educators and also put many of the schools on the path of global recognition.
The institutionalization of tech led innovation was created which had a spiral impact on student learning and building up 21st century skills. The learning outcome based approach to teaching, collaborative practices, personalization of experiences and exposure to accessibility aspects contributed to creating unique and engaged experiences for students.
