さて、私ども「ISCORD 2026 実行委員会」では、2026年7月7日（火）～10日（金）の4日間、北海道札幌市において、「第14回 国際寒冷地開発シンポジウム（14th International Symposium on Cold-Region Development, ISCORD 2026）」を開催する運びとなりました。
本大会では、「Building a Sustainable Future for the Cold Regions: Next Generation Innovations（寒冷地の持続可能な未来の構築：次世代へのイノベーション）」をテーマに掲げ、寒冷地特有の課題を解決するための科学技術、社会制度、地域戦略について、国内外の研究者・技術者・政策立案者が議論と交流を行います。
ISCORDは1983年に札幌で第1回が開催されて以来、世界各国で開催されており、今回22年ぶりに再び札幌に戻ってまいりました。寒冷地での技術・知見を世界へ発信するとともに、持続可能な社会の形成に貢献する国際会議として、意義深いものになると確信しております。

On behalf of the Organizing Committee of ISCORD 2026, we would like to express our sincere appreciation for your continued support and contributions toward the development of cold-region technologies and the revitalization of regional communities.
We are pleased to inform you that the 14th International Symposium on Cold-Region Development (ISCORD 2026) will be held from Tuesday, July 7 to Friday, July 10, 2026, in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan.
The symposium will be held under the theme:
"Building a Sustainable Future for the Cold Regions: Next Generation Innovations"
Researchers, engineers, and policymakers from around the world will gather to share and discuss technologies, policies, and regional strategies aimed at solving challenges specific to cold regions.
Since the inaugural symposium held in Sapporo in 1983, ISCORD has been hosted in various countries across the globe. Now, for the first time in 22 years, the event will return to Sapporo. We are confident that this symposium will serve as a meaningful international forum to showcase innovations from cold regions and contribute to the realization of a sustainable global society.
In this regard, we would be honored to receive your support in the form of sponsorship (available to organizations based in Japan) and/or participation in the technical exhibition (open to both domestic and overseas). Your valuable support will significantly contribute to the success of ISCORD 2026.
