URSI-JRSM 2026 Special Issue


The URSI-JRSM 2026 Special Issue is planned to be published in the peer-reviewed journal Radio Science. Papers are subject to the regular review process by the Radio Science Editorial Board.

This special issue provides a collection of papers presented at the “2026 URSI-Japan Radio Science Meeting” (URSI-JRSM 2026) held in Tokyo, Japan on March 2-3, 2026, and will include invited papers (original and review articles) and contributed papers (original articles). It is aimed at reporting progress and recent advances in the radio science research ranging from fundamental theories to various applications, and covers the areas related to all the URSI Commissions A to K. Suggested topics are the following:


Commission A: Electromagnetic metrology
Commission B: Fields and waves
Commission C: Radiocommunication systems and signal processing
Commission D: Electronics and photonics
Commission E: Electromagnetic environment and interference
Commission F: Wave propagation and remote sensing
Commission G: Ionospheric radio and propagation
Commission H: Waves in plasmas
Commission J: Radio astronomy
Commission K: Electromagnetics in biology and medicine

All the participants at URSI-JRSM 2026 who presented papers are eligible for submitting papers to this Special Issue. It is to be noted that invited papers in the Special Issue are based on invitations by the Guest Editors.

URSI Radio Science Letters


The URSI Radio Science Letters (RSL) is an electronic journal owned and operated by the International Union of Radio Science (URSI). Its purpose is to rapidly publish original and previously unpublished scientific research work in all areas of radio science, in the form of short contributions that are rigorously reviewed.

The URSI-Japan Radio Science Meeting (URSI-JRSM) is the URSI conference organized by the Japan National Committee of URSI (JNC-URSI). The URSI-JRSM provides a regional scientific forum for radio scientists and engineers in Japan and the Asian region. The “2026 URSI-Japan Radio Science Meeting” (URSI-JRSM 2026) is the fifth URSI-JRSM after the first (2014), second (2015), third (2019), and fourth (2022) editions. The URSI-JRSM special section was published in RSL for its 2022 edition, with a total of 17 papers.

This special section provides a selection of papers presented at the “2026 URSI-Japan Radio Science Meeting” (URSI-JRSM 2026) held in Tokyo, Japan on March 2-3, 2026. It also publishes invited papers authored by the three winners of the Student Paper Competition (SPC). All participants at URSI-JRSM 2026 who presented papers are eligible for submitting papers to this special section.
