Visit picturesque landmarks such as Toyama Castle and a tranquil Japanese garden, where you can immerse yourself in the elegance of Japanese scenery. Along the way, you'll find plenty of beautiful photo opportunities to capture unforgettable memories. After your walk, relax at the atmospheric Matsukawa Chaya. Here, you'll enjoy a hands-on Japanese sweets (wagashi) making experience, followed by tasting your handmade confection paired with a bowl of freshly prepared matcha green tea. Experience the spirit of Japanese hospitality while enjoying a peaceful and authentic moment. This exclusive program brings together three iconic elements of Japanese culture—kimono, wagashi, and matcha—in a single memorable experience. Even for many Japanese people, the opportunity to walk through a town dressed in a kimono is quite rare. 6. Shopping at Local Shops in Toyama

Discover the everyday life, local culture, and craftsmanship of Toyama that you may not find on a typical sightseeing tour. Stroll through central Toyama and visit a variety of unique local shops, where you can experience the city’s distinctive culture, food, and traditional craftsmanship.
The tour begins with matcha or hojicha ice cream, followed by visits to a local market featuring Toyama-grown produce and foods, a shop offering unique kelp-based products, a traditional craft shop, and a long-established Japanese confectionery shop. Along the way, visit shops that you may not normally encounter on a typical sightseeing tour. Hear from shop owners and staff about the stories behind their products and everyday life in Toyama, and take the opportunity to see and taste some of the products for yourself.  The tour concludes with a visit to Hie Shrine, which has long been cherished as the guardian shrine of Toyama. Rather than simply seeing Toyama’s famous sights, this half-day tour offers a chance to discover how the people of Toyama live and experience the city from a more local and authentic perspective.

9:00 a.m.	Meet at the Toyama International Conference Center
9:05–9:20 a.m.	Enjoy soft-serve ice cream at Kuribayashien, a long-established shop specializing in tea leaves and tea utensils. Choose from matcha, hojicha, or a mix of both.
9:30–10:15 a.m.	Shop at Jibamonya, a local market loved by Toyama residents and featuring produce and foods from Toyama. Then, at Takakuwa Noshi-ten, discover Toyama’s unique “kelp culture” and experience the many uses of kelp beyond food, as well as the Japanese traditions of gifts.
10:20–11:00 a.m.	Enjoy shopping at Toyama Daiwa Department Store. Then, visit a long established Japanese sweets shop, Suzuki-tei.
11:10–11:55 a.m.	Visit Hie Shrine, a beloved local shrine, and then discover a hidden gem offering unique traditional crafts and handmade goods at Hayashi Shop.
12:00 p.m.	Tour concludes at the Toyama International Conference Center
