Masaki (Masa) Shintani is a Professor at the Graduate School of Integrated Science and Technology, Shizuoka University, Japan. He has been a guest scientist at BRC-JCM, RIKEN, Japan since 2012. Dr. Shintani received his Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo in 2006. He also served as a guest scientist at the Department of Microbiology and Ecosystem Science (DoME), University of Vienna, Austria from 2016 to 2018.
